World Class Driving

We got quite a treat last weekend...Tom, Chris, & Grampa S. got to drive five fancy exotic cars for an afternoon. So we met in Columbus to fo that. First we went to Easton to hang out and kill some time. Tom & Tommy are playing in the Easton fountain below. He didn't quite know what to do with the water jumping out at him. But a little splashing didn't seem to matter. After stocking up at the Ohio State store (new football jerseys and pillow beds for the puppies and a new OSU football for T3), we had lunch at Max and Erma's. Then we sailed sailboats in the Easton fountain. Much harder than I ever thought. There were a few sailboat crashes...both by accident and on purpose.

That night while hanging out in the hotel playing "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader", Tommy spent his time playing with his new friend in the full length mirror. He kept crawling up to the other baby to say hi and he kept running into his own head. So silly. The next morning before going to the driver's lunch, we went and visited the mounds in Newark. Pretty much just some piles of dirt with grass growing on them. But also an excellent place for a nap.

After a delish lunch at the hotel as part of the World Class Driving experience we had plenty of photo op time. The cars that we got to drive were a Corvette Callaway, Lamborghini SuperLeggera, Ferrari F599 GTB Fiorano, Mercedes McLaren SLR, & a Maserati Gran Turismo. The guys (including "Uncle" Mike) were part of a group of twelve drivers and they switched turns as they drove from our hotel in Newark, Ohio to Athens and back. Basically 30 minutes of driving in each car for each person. I heard rumors of speeds around 120mph...rumors only I say! Everyone had huge smiles on their face when they got back.

While the guys were out tearing up the state highways, us girls (and T3) headed to Ye Olde Mill, home of Velvet ice-cream. After a tour around the property we had some tasty ice-cream (and Tommy had Cheerios) and then headed back to the hotel to hit the water park. T3 had a blast on the water slide and got a little bit of time on the lazy river before they made us leave because he had his own tube and not their tube. Pretty ridiculous rules, but whatever. We then got dried up and went out to the playground and had a fun ride on the baby swing. We've got quite a little dare-devil on our hands from the looks of it.
