7 Months Already

We had another fun week. Tommy is learning all kinds of stuff now. He's gone from a couple of inches with the army crawl just a couple of weeks ago to cutting across the whole room with it now. And he is on the verge of a real crawl too. He gets up on all fours and rocks...even moves his knees sometimes...just can't get it all together at once. But it is close.
He is sitting up by himself now. He eats real bananas and mashed potatoes. Not a lot mind you, but he gums on them for fun. He's made it all the way through the stage two foods and likes pretty much everything but chicken. Which if I had it all mushed up like that I'm sure I wouldn't be a huge fan. And he is running his mouth constantly it seems.
He talks to himself in the morning. The word of the week is da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da!
And of course he's still absolutely adorable. I tried to take him to get groceries with me last night and it took twice as long as it should have. Between the egg guy talking to him, the two ladies in the chip aisle, the 2 year old that kept saying hi, and the girls in the checkout line, I thought we'd never get done. That dimple will be the death of me yet!
Some cute pics below of him sleeping in the truck and sitting up eating a cracker.

New Friends

It really is a small world...Turns out that Tom's - Gramma's - Friend's - Grandaughter (Allie) just moved to Peoria with her fiance (Sean). So we met up on Saturday and spent the day out on the river. We had a blast trying to master the great river waves on the wakeboard and then hung out in the cove for the rest of the day until it was time to conquer the waves on the way home. The wind on Saturday was just right...I've never seen waves so big on the Illinois.
Tommy was as cute as usual, but we forgot the camera. Fortunately Allison had hers and a nice fisherman took out picture at the end of our adventure.

Gettin' Around

Tommy's getting into everything...fortunately not as much as the puppies. But he's has a new form of mobility. The Army recruiter will be knocking at our door any day now.

First Day on the River

The weekend weather has finally cooperated and we got out on the river. Tom rigged up Tommy's jumper on the boat tower and he had a blast all day just jumpin' & jumpin'. We stuck his legs in the water, but it must be a little chillier than his bath, because he wasn't having any of that. He was pretty happy to just chill. But all that jumping must have really worn him out because he slept ALL DAY at day care. Hopefully that doesn't affect his night time sleep too much.

Vetty got her life jacket in. Doesn't she look adorable?!?! Dunkin and Gracie didn't get to come on the boat this weekend because they were in trouble after getting into the kitchen garbage...and strewing it all over the dining room! They're lucky they're so cute!

And last but certainly not least, we got to break open some bubbly and celebrate. Troy and Amy are getting married! Congratulations!

Yum Yums & Thank You

He's getting a lot better at the picking up stuff and eating it. Good thing for opposable thumbs!

And we went shopping for Tommy's 6-month birthday present from Gramma & Grampa. He picked out a practice steering wheel that helps learn colors and shapes and numbers and letters. Genius school in no time.
